This is the amplified one. It is the same magnetic-mount aerial as the passive model with an amplifier built into the base, and that amplifier is fed by a USB lead into the television rather than by anything you have to wire in. Choose it if you park where the signal is present but thin: at the edge of a transmitter’s reach, low down in a valley, or behind a hillside.
It stands 5 inches tall, is sealed to IP68 for outdoor use, and is omni-directional, so there is nothing to aim. Terrestrial television and DAB radio come down 5 metres of RG-58 coax on a standard connector, and it suits a car, van, campervan, motorhome, caravan or boat.
Fitting is not a job. Plug the coax into the aerial socket and the USB lead into a USB port on the television, place the antenna on the roof and run a retune. Bear in mind what an amplifier does: it lifts what is already there. In a strong-signal area it can overload the tuner, and the passive model is then the better choice. As it is omni-directional it will pick up the majority of channels without the need to keep moving it around.
It is fully waterproofed to IP 68 so it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Great antenn bought when at one of the shows and our expensive satellite dish could not get signal due to trees. Bought this from Stuart plugged into the TV the USB and the connector to the TV and we got 120 stations. Great value does the job thanks Stuart!

From all the reviews I’m reading on this wonderful aerial I can only think I purchased a faulty one.
Every site visited we try to tune in the TV and at the end we get the message ‘NO SIGNAL’
Have tried in all positions on the van in Cornwall, Devon and Dorset and all we get is frustration.
Tested tv on home aerial an it works.
Any advice would be appreciated but thru personal experience I cannot give this one even a half decent review.
