A solar battery maintainer does one job: it puts back the charge a parked vehicle quietly loses. A 12V leisure battery self-discharges even with everything switched off, and an alarm, a tracker, a clock or a radio memory adds a small constant draw on top. Left through a European winter that is often enough to flatten the battery and shorten its life.
One maintainer is stocked here, a 12 watt Falcon panel with a built-in regulator. The regulator gives a reading of the state of charge and protects the battery from overcharge, so the panel can stay connected for months rather than being watched. The cells are monocrystalline, so it works in daylight and not only in bright direct sun.
Fitting is a customer job and takes minutes. Suction cups hold the panel inside a window or on the bodywork, and the supplied leads end in ring terminals, crocodile clips or a 12V plug, so nothing is drilled and nothing is spliced into the vehicle wiring.

Yes. The built-in regulator protects the battery from overcharge, so it does not need supervision. If you connect through a 12V socket rather than straight to the terminals, check first that the socket still has power with the ignition off, because many vehicles switch it off with the key.
