4G is the sensible starting point for most tourers. The hardware costs less than 5G, the networks reach far more of the continent, and for browsing, email, video calls and streaming to a couple of devices it does the job without any sense of compromise.
What is on this page is a kit, not a component. The router and the antenna are supplied together, so there is nothing further to buy on the hardware side before the system can be set up.
The reason the antenna matters more than the router specification is simple. A motorhome, caravan or panel van conversion is an insulated box, and it is very good at keeping mobile signal out. Moving the antenna to the outside of that box, or at least onto a window, does more for a weak signal than any amount of upgrading indoors.
Mounting is designed to be done by the owner. The combo antenna fixes with suction cups or a self-adhesive plate, so it holds on glass and on textured panels alike, and it can be cable-tied to a pole instead where that puts it higher. No holes, no cutting, and nothing that has to be made good before you sell the vehicle.
Where 4G still beats 5G is reach and cost. 5G is concentrated around towns, motorways and the larger sites near them. 4G reaches far more of the places tourers actually park, and it costs less to buy into. If you spend your time in rural France, northern Spain or the Alps rather than in cities, 4G is the better buy, and the money saved is better spent on the antenna than on the radio.
For most people, comfortably. Browsing, email, video calls, music and streaming to one or two screens all sit well inside what a 4G connection delivers in decent coverage. Real speeds depend on the local mast and how busy it is, which is why the antenna is worth more attention than the headline figure on the router.
It is usually the difference between a connection that drops and one that holds. The body of a leisure vehicle attenuates mobile signal badly, so a router sitting on a shelf inside is working from whatever is left after the walls have taken their share. An antenna on the outside, or suckered to a window, sees the mast far more clearly, and that shows up as fewer dropouts rather than only as a bigger number in a speed test.
Yes to both. The mounting is suction cup or self-adhesive plate, so there is no drilling and no cutting, and cable ties are included if you would rather fix it to a pole. Because nothing is permanent, the same kit can move to another vehicle, into a holiday let, or come indoors at home between trips.
One at present: the 4G Combo V3. It pairs a weatherproof outdoor antenna with a 4G router that supports up to ten connected devices, and it is the model to look at if you want the least disruptive way to get a proper connection into a touring vehicle.

Just received my Falcon Mobile WiFi Router 4G Combo Deluxe and what a joy to behold, from unboxing the hard padded storage case containing all we need to get on line in our caravan, the ease of setting up was fantastic within 5 mins of plugging in the power cable I was on line. Can recommend this piece of kit.Posted on Google![]()

Posted on Google![]()

As well as excellent products, Falcon’s customer service is second to none. They are very responsive and helpful. I use two products: the wireless reversing camera and the 5g mobile WiFi router. I am very, very happy with both. The products are of excellent build quality and you feel that Falcon really understands their market by including useful features and equipment. It’s a pleasure buying from them and using their products.
