A 12 watt solar panel that keeps a 12V battery charged, rather than one that recharges it from flat. It replaces the charge a motorhome, caravan, boat or car loses on its own while it stands, so the battery is still usable when you come back to it. Suction cups hold the panel inside a window or on the bodywork, and the built-in regulator lets it stay connected for months without overcharging.
A parked vehicle is never quite at rest. The battery loses charge on its own with everything switched off, and an alarm, a tracker or a radio memory draws a little more on top. That slow loss is what a 12 watt panel is sized to cover, so the vehicle is not left standing on an emptying battery.
The robust waterproof design allows for use inside a window or outside the vehicle mounted using the included suction cups and the mono-crystalline solar cells means it will work in all daylight conditions. The panel also comes with a built in regulator to provide a visual of the state of charge of your battery and also to protect your battery from overcharge, so the panel can stay connected while the vehicle stands. Our engine battery kept going flat on our motorhome so we fitted a new battery wanted somthing to keep the new battery maintained so we looked arround and found most maintainers did not have a regulator which meant it could over charge the battery and damage it. We found this one a the Malvern caravan show and bought it this was back in 2019. Happy to say we just went out and started the van and fired up straight away.
